Maria Laperriere, PTA President
Thank you for choosing R.L. Stevenson Elementary and welcome to a school filled with amazing teachers, staff, and parent volunteers. It is such an honor to serve as your PTA President for the 2020-2021 school year.
As a parent of a third and fourth grader, I am committed to doing my part to bring as many positive, uplifting activities and opportunities for your child to experience in school.
I have been volunteering at Stevenson since my first born was in Kindergarten and I love being there for the students and for the staff. I feel like our parents really make our school stand out as an exceptional Elementary School. Anything we can do to make our school better, I am on board to help with.
I care about my kids AND yours. I want to see them happy, smiling, and enjoying school!
Let’s be THAT school. Be THAT school to show we are different, innovative, and get things done by using our voices and our kids voices.
PTA’s goal is to provide you with tools to engage and be a part of your child’s education. Create a positive community and to provide programs for your children in health, wellness, and safety.
Please join PTA. Please contribute to Stevenson’s wonderful community by being involved and informed. Thank you!
If you have any questions or concerns about the PTA, volunteering, or the school in general, please feel free to contact me or anyone else on the PTA Executive Board. We will be more than happy to assist you.
Together we can enhance every child’s artistic and educational growth, and foster their natural curiosity of the world around them. Enjoy your year at R.L. Stevenson Elementary!
PTA President 2020-2021
Neela Woodard, FFS President
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year at R.L. Stevenson. My name is Neela Woodard and this is my second year as the President of the school’s fundraising committee, Families For Stevenson (FFS).
This will be my fourth year at Stevenson and I can promise you, this is a great school. It is not only the amazing teachers and quality of education that make Stevenson special, but also the sense of community both the parents and the staff bring to the school.
One thing that sets Stevenson apart is its commitment to making sure your child gets a well-rounded education. You can see this in the extras we have here, like the additional arts classes that our parents fund by donating money to FFS and the beautiful PTA-run garden.
I joined FFS because I feel strongly that arts belong in schools and want to make sure Stevenson has the money to provide them for our children. To ensure this happens, we have a a direct ask campaign called the Family Giving Campaign which you can learn more about here. We also sponsor many great family events throughout the year which help provide revenue for our programs.
Please get involved, your help is always needed. It’s a great way to be a part of the school, raise money for a good cause and make new friends. All levels of involvement are welcome.
If you have any questions about the school, FFS or anything else, please feel free to reach out.
I know this is going to be a great year.
