The R.L. Stevenson Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a parent volunteer group created to unite the bridge between parents and teachers, to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth, and to positively impact the lives of children and their families. Our PTA is committed to making our school a better place for each and every child.
By simply joining the PTA, your membership dues go towards caring for children and their quality of education, which directly benefits your child. We welcome all volunteers and encourage family involvement, however, by joining the PTA you are not required to volunteer.
Last year, your PTA dues helped bring programs to our school like The Buddy Bench program, where benches were placed on school grounds as a safe haven for students in need of a friend. Weekly athletic activities were implemented where students were able to become involved in various sports. We have been able to sustain an amazing garden right on our very own campus where students are able to help out and sample fruit and vegetables they helped to grow.
Stevenson PTA provides our school with the annual Read-A-Thon, Book Fair, Kindness Campaign, Boo Bash (our annual fair), Holiday Boutique (kids shop for gifts for their families), Wellness Week, Walk to School Day, and many, many more awesome activities and events for YOUR children. Every membership counts!
We also work hand in hand with our school’s booster club, Families For Stevenson. Together our objective is to provide much needed support our school requires due to continuing State Budget cuts in education. This includes enhancing the scholastic experience of our students by providing our library with its own full time librarian, and enriching the education of our kids by funding in-school courses like art classes and performing arts.
Both groups share meetings, information, and volunteers because we know that by working together we are having a positive impact on our children’s education.
Our goal is for every parent and their families to be a member and at only $10 per person, we know all of our families can make a difference! Memberships must be renewed annually.
Want to know more about PTA and Stevenson Elementary? Come to our monthly meetings, which are held on the Third Thursday of each month in the Stevenson Library. Please check the school marquee for specific meeting times, which are posted prior to each meeting.
